Ibiza FR 115 6 month update

Just thought I’d give a quick update on my Ibiza, owned it now for almost 6 months and have done about 4400 miles so far. I went for the FR 1.0 TSI 115 in midnight black and what a car it’s been to own so far. Absolute joy to drive with a very responsive engine that has enough power both in town and on the motorway, I previously owned a 1.25 fiesta and coming from that to the Ibiza has really made me realise how much difference a turbo can make.

Fuel economy has been absolutely amazing too. I normally average about 50-60 mpg just depending on what roads I’m driving. This has really made a difference and I’m finding I’m filling up a lot less too, don’t normally bother using the eco mode unless I’m really trying to save that extra bit of fuel. I don’t find it makes a huge difference.

Infotainment screen is also very responsive and a joy to use and I find that apple CarPlay works great, especially since the screen is glass it makes it a lot easier to swipe and scroll through the different menus.

Have had a couple of minor issues, there has been the odd rattle from the interior and the brakes were quite squeaky during the winter but this has disappeared. There are also areas of build quality that could be better, some of the plastics feel quite cheap and the seats while comfy don’t appear to be of the best quality.

Overall so far it’s been an absolutely brilliant car and would definitely say I made a good choice.
