What a cracking brake set-up that looks , did you have to do any alterations to your master cylinder or reservoir due to the bigger calipers??

Cheers, I'm still using the same master cylinder and reservoir with the bigger calipers, not noticed much difference at the moment to be honest.

Having had discussions with my tuner, car will be converted to 4 wheel drive sometime after easter and the engine will be bored out to become a 2l, with either a gtx3076r gen 2 or gtx3582r bolted on, want a minimum of 500hp. Thought of having the work done now, but with winter approaching, makes sense to have it done next year, as the car will be ready when it warms up. Gearbox, do I keep it manual or convert it to dsg?

Just had fantastic news from my cupra dealership, I have been successful in the allocated process and my cupra r st in magnetic tech grey will be available to drive away on the 1st September. The wait will be worth it.
I am keeping my leon, it will be turned into a proper track car.

Congrats on the new car order! 1st Sept isn't that far away really... Get through summer which is yet to start in the Uk haha

Will you have to de-mod your MK1 to track it due to sound regulations etc Be good to get all the track cars together at a location for a SCN day.

Not sure how loud the exhaust is, to pass sound regulations. Definitely up for a track day sometime.

New ar1's have arrived, going to be running 235 on rear and 225 up front. Having new adjustable top mounts fitted at tsr on Monday, while they have a look at the chinefold manifold, as its blowing and I'm seriously down in power. It's either come unbolted or cracked, will post an update when I find out.

Picked up my brand new cupra r st in blackness grey. I got the panoramic sunroof and ABT performance pack which brings the horsepower up to 350. What a car, absolutely love it, so easy to drive, blistering quick from 0 to 60, but my mk1 cupra r is quicker from about 50 onwards. Will be doing another build thread for my new car.

This is a great thread.

I like the fact you have used excellent parts. The bilsteins were always the best suspension to buy but it was very expensive.

Just wanted to ask, I wanted to upgrade my rears to that ECS set up but 2 things out me off...the long wait to get it shipped from US and secondly cos I would have to have no rear brake guard. Have you noticed any problems with the brake disc getting crap in it at all?

No issues with the rear brake discs getting stones in it etc. Yes it is a long wait to get the kit from America, I waited almost 6 weeks for it to arrive.

During a hoon last Saturday night my k04 hybrid engine went into a serious misfire, limped it back home and it was recovered to my tuner to diagnose the issue. I knew it was serious as the rac man said the spark plug in cylinder number 2 had disingrated, they were only changed 6 weeks ago. So it turns out there was a some kind of issue in cylinder 2 which caused the spark plug to fail which in turn caused the 1.8 standard piston to break up which in turn scored the bore. The engine needs to be fully rebuilt. So I decided to have it rebored to a 2L, fit oversized forged pistons, new crank, new valve springs, 1000cc injectors, new in line fuel pump, new fuel filter and some other stuff. Aiming for the rebuild to take around the 600hp mark. Undecided which turbo to bolt on as of yet.
