Idiot question

It's not an idiot question

Numbers 1-10 (?) are reserved for the drivers who finished in those championship positions last year. Often teams go for similar numbers, e.g. Plato = 2 MacDowall = 20.

I think they can ask for the other numbers when they register for the championship if they want to and some of them have favourite numbers, e.g. Paul O'Neill has had 29 for the last couple of years. Giovanardi raced for triple eight race engineering, so had 888. Past strange numbers included Matt Neal being no 0 at one stage and Luke Hines being no 57
