Ignition switch

Has anyone changed the ignition switch on a mk2 cupra ? I’ve got codes showing intermittent problems with the ignition and pin pointed it to the switch

Do you have to take the steering wheel off to remove it ?

i didnt need to remove the steering wheel but looks like you'd have to remove it to get the loom off as the new switch comes with a replacement one

Interesting. I've had these fault codes popping up sporadically on my facelift FR and did a reccy the other day to see how difficult a job this would be. I just removed the steering wheel as a matter of course as it's not really difficult and makes work in that area much easier.

I've actually noticed though that the codes (and the accompanying chime from the instrument cluster) haven't reappeared since I changed my battery a few weeks ago so I'll keep an eye on it for now.
