When it comes to making a bass box it's all about the movement of the air pressure etc. I hp basically wanted to keep the original JBL exposed speakers but in a new housing. The speakers are both facing up and fixed to the underside of the top of the box. I've put some sturdy wire mesh over the top then the auto carpet on top (don't want any pram wheels going through the speakers!). The amp was built into the original bass tube so the height of the box had to work with the amp...turned out really well and took about an hour to make!
The door speakers are standard and are just connected to the existing loom....the headunit has the ability to adjust the frequency range to the door speakers and also separate frequency to the box hence why the sound is really good for such a cheap design and mod.

Really does sound perfect rob, gonna have a good look on eBay and see what's about in terms of head unit and bass box. However won't be buying any of it yet as misses still moaning over the fact I've just spent nearly 12k buying the k1 (she soon smiles when driving it tho) instead of spending more on the bloody house! :handbags: plus already spent out of few bits n pieces for the car already

Cheers for more great info buddy

It was only £6.00 delivered for 5m, so if the fronts look ok I mite put some under the back of the front seats for rear footwell redness ha ha I did say I was bored...........

Not read through fully so this may have been said...

To get the light switch out easily, push the knob inwards and twist it (I'm almost 99% it's clockwise, I'll double check next time I'm in the car). This releases the clips and it will pull out

Hope that helps.

This is a mini mod I've been meaning to do for ages so will read this properly tomorrow :)

I can confirm that to remove the light switch you push it in @ the 12 0 clock position and twist it clockwise and then give a little tug and hey presto the light switch comes out............
