Hi all,

So new cupra 290 ez non lux hatchback is getting delivered 1st of may, rang insurance company to give reg to say wanting it changed over for then... Car cant be found by the registration, told him the name of it as it says on the documents and it didnt come up but could find others with similar names.

Does anyone know what their car comes up as exactly so i can use this as I assume they all use similar/the same database for vehicle names.

Cheers,
Paul

This sounds such a good idea... arrange insurance in a timely manner... but maybe it isn't or it's a bit too soon?

There's a risk (don't know how big) that when it finally is registered it is not quite the same as you've arranged and if so you'll need to correct it - probably with an extra fee :(

Maybe wait until it's definitely registered to you and appearing on (whatever databases there are).

You'd think the selling firm would be able to help and get it right!!

Your car wo’t likely be registered with DVLA yet, so insurance will not be able to track it via the reg, model data bases are v poor that’s why reg no is more reliable.

It will say the exact details on your financial docs but here’s what my leasing outfit sent me.

SEAT LEON HATCHBACK 2.0 TSI 290 Cupra Lux [EZ] 5dr DSG

(You’d need the correct paint colour type)

If your insurance is decent, tell them the make etc and then give them the plate. AXA told me adding the plate would fluctuate the price etc, and I’d have to pay the new premium but they’d refund me the amount to the original quote. Pretty good insurances so far!
