Just looking for pre stage 2 upgrades for cupra 290 sc

But I've become a little stuck when it's come to the intake, I've read reviews and found the R600 to be some what of the holy grail for a few seat owners, but I'm just interested to know what induction kit any one used with this. I'm looking for a little more noise when the bonnets open and just better response from it.

  2. All the serious guys here go for the R600, Looks like stock and the was (and maybe still) the best air box.

For me I had trouble with it could not get the high octane map to work correctly on a Revo stage 1.
Did the map on a standard box and replaced it later with a Revo cold intake but Awesome do a lot of different ones with the same impact.

The experts can advise on the power impact (R600 Is supposed to be the best) but I have to say I like my Revo one simply because it makes a nice noise when you push it but family driving does not upset the Mrs.

R600 is definitely the best intake on the market if you're after the highest power, however doesn't offer much in the way of noise.

I went for an Integrated Engineering open Cold Air Intake purely because I wanted some noise as well as power. As long as you replace the restrictive turbo elbow and inlet hose you should still see good gains even with an open intake, just not as high as the R600

    Well it's either
    R600 intake system
    R600 high flo turbo
    R600 intake silicone pipe
    R600 turbo muffle delete
    Total set up £700

But I was thinking of a open induction like yours, the noise sounds beautiful on of one them. I don't think the turbo delete muffle is gonna make a massive difference to increase the noise if going with the racing line set up.

What sort of set up you go for with the open induction if you don't mind me asking.

Yeah I was after noise and my setup was a lot cheaper than the R600 set up.

I'm only running the IE Cold Air Intake and the racingline hi flow inlet. £350 on the intake and £126 on the inlet.

I'm probably going to get the turbo muffler delete at some point for some extra added noise.

The intake sounds insane with stage 1 tune I'll try and get some more videos tonight

Please do. It's something I might go for an open induction, it's the noise that appeals most to me I can live with out an extra bhp or 2.

Sounds nice on that video dude either way

Here we are just a short compilation of the intake noises. Sorry about the wind noise and sorry about my brother being an awful cameraman but hopefully it will give you an idea!

It was wet out so every time the traction control limited power to the wheels my exhaust was making machine gun bangs which is what you can hear Got some good clips of the turbo flutter though!

even Volkswagen Motorsport Germany use the R600 on their cars. The only reason the TCR Golf/Leon don't use it is because they use a top mount intercooler.

Hi guys, you'll have to excuse my inexperience, but I have read these posts and I'm not too clued up on the induction side of things.

I also want to get a decent induction kit and am after a bit of extra noise, from as little fuss as possible really as the car is a lease and the bits will need taking off in another 12 months.

what would you recommend? I looked on the revo site and it only seems to show the air intake system up til Seat Leon MK2 up to 2012?

    http://www.revotechnik.com/product-details/air-filter-intake-kits/20-tfsi-air-intake-system

I've got the 2016 SC 290 black edition with stage 1 map.

    thanks in advance

  11. http://www.revotechnik.com/products-for-vehicle/seat/leon-mk3-2012-&engineid=282 shows the Carbon Filter version for the 290

http://www.revotechnik.com/product-.../18-20-tsi-mqb-air-intake-system&engineid=194 shows the induction with conical filter which i have on mine and gives a nice noise.

OK thank you will look a bit more into it.

Ive got a Remus exhaust on the way and was looking to fit a decent induction system and them map her to a stage 2. Half of me thinks its all a lot of effort and risk for a lease car under warranty though...

No-one on here is going to do this I'm sure, but the way I used to get free 'hidden' induction noise on various chariots years back was to drill 1/2" or 18mm diameter holes on whatever was the 'coldest' side of the car's standard airbox.
Try just a couple at first and if not noisy enough, then keep adding another hole until satisfied.

On one car this mod was so successful it led to carby icing in winter on the motorway at constant high speed - the cure was to block some of the holes up again until springtime with little squares of black gaffer tape.

I've seen that in a lot of cars from all brands, and probably I wold do it on a slow day just for the kicks, but stock airboxes are so damn expensive and I like to always keep stock parts in good shape to revert in case I need to take the car to the dealer and when selling.

Another extra cheap and temp option I've seen, and done in the past is to remove the top section of the airbox, and attach a generic cone filter to the stock hose and let it sit on the bottom half of the airbox.

In most cases the holes drilled are well hidden from 'in-situ' view in the lower-half of the standard airbox, (likewise any gaffer tape covering them up again) - but of course it depends on the design and location of the airbox.
Needless to say, any holes need to be positioned only before the filter element itself.

Another trick was to paint the underside of the airbox gloss white, or attach tin foil to reflect radiant engine/exhaust/radiator heat away from it.

I'm looking for an air filter for the diesel Leon FR MK3 there doesn't seem to be an induction kit out there only the panel filters but then someone on YouTube is using the bmc CDA filter which sounds pleasant no idea where to get that from

I can't post links yet but if you YouTube BMC CDA Leon you'll find the red car with it.

    Any thoughts?

Having bought the Revo Cold Air Intake, my question is how much of the OEM grill air inlet do you leave on the car?

Looking at the design of it, i figure it all has to come off as they are all interlocking pieces that will no longer work with the new intake mount and heatshield. Is this the case?
