Hi all. I've just recently bought a 2011 leon mk2 and I just wanted to say I've been trawling through the forums since before I even bought the car and the knowledge here is amazing and a great help for a newbie like me.
Anyway I saw a post somewhere about LED lighting in the footwells was looking around at where to get them and try it out.
I saw these LED strip lights for behind a TV in Maplins on sale so I got two boxes and I have to say I'm pretty impressed. Now it's by no means the tidiest or most professional job but as a cheap and cheerful fix I'm pretty happy. They work off USB and I had a triple slot adapter so I plugged the two in and stuck them underneath the dash on the drivers and passengers side.
(sorry there's no photos of the actual lights themselves I forgot to take some before I put them on)
They come with a pretty sticky back on them but they don't always stay perfectly in place so I'll probably look to get something stronger. The little remote is basic enough but cycling through the colours is quick and easy and I set on purple (hard to make out on my crappy phone pics) but you can have a multicolour pulse/strobe if you want.
The one question I wanted to ask was what if any effect they'll have on the battery? They're only 5V each so I can't imagine they'll do anything major?
Anyway just said I'd share and I'd love to see what else has been done.
Cheers!
