Interior Light

Hi all - a little help please...
Got my Toledo back in March and was surprised to find no warning tone on opening the drivers door having left the headlights on.
For no apparent reason, this started working a couple of weeks later and had been fine since.

Come the winter, and daily driving with headlights and it's now not working - being of the forgettful type, I've drained the battery twice in 2 weeks :(

Does anyone know how the car knows that the door is open? Gone are the days of a little plastic pushy thing which turns the interior light on and off - I've had a look over the door and side of the car but there is nothing obvious.

All help appreciated.

it has? I had a prod around but there didn't seem anything obvious which wasn't the locking mechanism itself.

Saying that, the passenger side is working, so I'll see if I can make the light go off on that side by pressing various things.

Thanks for the tip
