hi fellas, had a search through and ive decided i need to change a wheel bearing, humming noise coming from car, had this on other cars and it has been a bearing

is there a guide on here on how to change a bearing?

is it fairly easy, dont want to pay high garage prices, fairly handy with a spanner myself.

wheres best to get a replacement bearing, gsf, seat?

cheers:rolleyes:

gsf do do them yes and pretty reasonable i have on mine and there going well considering how much stick i give it lol

you'd need a press to put the bearing in or a vice a couple bits of wood and press it in straight getting them out is bascially a hammer job if you feel comfortable doing it

just drop the wisbone so the leg hangs loose so to speak and go from there

think i might just get the part and give to someone to do, hammer/vice bang = broken fingers for james!!

what is it a half hour job.... ish?

not sure which one is gone though, can hear the tell tale noise form the front but dont know which side?

might just replace them boh

its basically drop wheel and take off disc to make life easier then undo bolt on the hub that holds the strut to the wishbone and pry it out with a crowbar or similar if i remeber rightly

Wheel bearing n Hub

Just bought the same thing for my motor but was told you had to get the bearing and the Hub together, Gsf charged me £33 all in. Not having the tools, time or know how to fit myself it's currently in my local audi indy getting fitted. I've had the annoying hum for ages and was only told by same dealer when i had my car serviced a couple of weeks back what it was....
