After not running the car (at all) since it ran out of go juice back in September, I thought I'd finally finish moving the battery, stick the lights back in after not loaning them out, and stick the bumper on that I got from Pete (F2 bumper wouldn't get off the drive)

So, 1/2 pint of petrol I had lieing about got lobbed in, jump leads out & connected to the Ibiza, and with lots of revs it started (the battery in the boot is totally flat)

Starts 1st time, couple of rattles, sounds like tappets, which no doubt are totally dry, but I ran it for about 25 mins until the little petrol was all gone.

What you can't see in this pic very clearly is all the **** that came out of the back of the exhaust!

Battery, with nice battery cap to hide all the wires & prevent any inadvertant contact across the terminals

I think I might need to find some paint

Forgot to say I'd have moved it had I not lent the NS Rear Caliper to Lorna after I bust the brake line on hers. So it's currently got it's arse in the air on axle stands with no wheels :)

The matching pair of screws holding the strap to the wheelarch are a nice touch - my grandfather would have been proud :)

Working on other's cars most the time doesnt help neither (its always the plumber that has a leaky tap)
I'll be volunteering your services on a certain task for mine - hows your wiring? ;)

  :hide:

Mark, did you manage to win that Ibiza on ebay??? Maybe we should have a whip round of man power to come and finish your motor off (a bit like a painting party for houses!) for all the effort you've put into others. Limit of my expertise would be a polishing arm (although I do know more about the 16v than 1.8T's). Maybe I could be chief gluer of that silver toy car to the roof of your car??? (and this time I'll try not to hot glue gun my fingers together)
