I'm feeling the same way. Really want to like the new Cupra but so unsure of the looks. I am going to have a test drive next week on recommendations of the guys on here. It's a lot of money to part with for something i may not be a 100% sure about.

Trouble is i was visiting a mate at a Vauxhall dealership and had a really good look at the VXR astra, hate to say it, in my opinion, much better looking. May have to take a test drive.

Now i feel dirty and it wont wash off!!

I agree on the VXR. SEAT and Vauxhall seem to have switched positions on their latest releases. I still wouldn't buy a Vauxhall, but it looks more appealing (IMO).

I drove the Astra VXR when it first came out.

It was fast but it was the first time I had driven a car with that much power. It did suffer from torque steer as well and constantly felt that if you put your foot down, you would crash it.

Looks smart from the outside, inside is very boring as are all Astra's.

The Cupra is a much more balanced car. I think SEAT learnt from the mistakes Vauxhall made with the VXR.

Depreciation is a nightmare on Vauxhall's too.
