Not nice seeing that :( I'd go mad if that happened mine, some people have no respect! :censored:

I know mate haha, but there’s not much I can do about it now

Any other damage? Were they trying to steal the car or just breaking windows for no reason?

Sorry to see it lad.

Cheers mate, it looks like they’ve used loads of small stones (maybe in a bag?) to smash the window, there are pebbles all inside the car. The only other damage is a few stone marks on at the top of the door where the stones have hit – other than that its just the window.

They took my uni bag, but all that was in it was some small toggle switches (which I later found on the floor next to my car) and some paracetamol.

Sell it and get a tdi Cupra, better mpg and still plenty pull when you need it :)

Gutting about the window been smashed hope no other damage was caused :)

I was thinking about getting a cupra TDi but they’re really expensive, also I fancy a change, I’ve been looking at the new(er) diesel Leon FRs with the BTCC kit or an Audi A3 2.0tdi 170ps

That's why I got rid of my FR! Dirty diesel is the way forward for high-milers like you and me. :funk:
&
not just high milers i dont do many miles but even though the cupra wasnt bad on fuel im saving so much money now.

I don’t really do that many miles, my work is 4 miles away, and my parents live 11 miles away. They’re the only two places I really go. I usually around 10 miles a day. But next year my uni is moving to Sheffield so I’ll be doing an extra 70 miles in a day – hopefully I’ll have a new car by then.

A little update, my drivers window has been repaired, I managed to source the window from another cupra that had been written off in Nottingham. Cheers to Kelly for fitting the window (I owe you a crate of beer mate), Alan for carrying the glass and Dan for holding the umbrella and riding a unicycle to keep our spirits up

Pictures to follow...

Not fancy selling the rear wiper off it I'm after the later plastic type arm :)

not really mate, i'm thinking of putting the car back to standard and putting it on eBay or something. why do you want the rear arm anyway? it looks a lot better de-wipered

A bit of an update:

i spent the weekend with half naked girls all over my car for a charity calendar being made by ds:lc - i can't show the pictures until the calendar is on sale. but it was a really good day.

I also have some plans for engine detailing which i'll be doing soon, pictures to follow.

Saw this on gumtree, how much you sell it for? Very smart car

Thanks mate - We agreed on asking price of 5,000 if i taxed it for 6 months and had the car serviced.

Its a real shame to see it go and i do miss it, but it needed to be sold. I had to free up the money tied into the car because i'm buying a house. So I've downgraded to a little 1.4 6N2 Polo for a while. But once the house is all sorted and I've found my feet, i'll be getting something lively again.
