Just had a remap done at DNA Tuning on my V5. Really knowlegable guys there who really know their stuff and can highly recommend for any VAG remap.

Flat spot totally gone and it feels like a different car and even sounds nicer !I was going to sell her and almost bought and alfa but decided to keep her for a few more years as she has been so reliable and do a few upgrades as below.

1/ Aux input to the stereo now done with a sega saturn lead, shame composite video doesn't work
2/ Remap done not sure on extra torque and BHP around 15 I think
3/ Bilstein B4s all around.. don't think I'll bother lowering
4/ Shave bobbles of seats :)
5/ Replace suspension bushes with powerflex, not sure which I should replace first
6/ Upgrade rear tyres to Toyo CF2s I think as currently on some crappy budget tyres
7/ Install bluetooth receiver if worth it so can stream music from Lumia
8/ Fit some TT Mk1 pedal covers, got some £20 delivered brand new
9/ Possibly W8 interior light mod though not sure if worth it
10/ Fit some genuine Toledo Mats
11/ Possible fit a small fridge in boot for camping etc

Anyone think of any other useful cheap mods ?

remap

How much did you pay for the mapping and how long did it take them?

Remap was 190 quid and totally removed the flat spot took them around 1 hour. It definately pulls cleaner now the flat dot at roughly 4k revs has gone. I ran the VAGCOM 0-60 and BHP reports and it has a made a difference.. Shame other parts of the car are falling to bits !
