The whole point of porting the WG is to INCREASE the area when it's open to reduce the flow restriction. Inevitably it will also have increased area exposed to boost pressure when closed, so requiring more seat pressure from the spring to hold it shut.

this is testing... so I am pushing things..
the numbers in peak terms are relevant as the car was very very hot as I had been loading the bejesus out of it... What I was looking for was the boost and pressures..
298bhp after ragging it rotten... not too bad :)

Max I have logged is 950'c in collector on this high boost levels.. which is as hot as I would want to see it. Thats with wmi running also.

sorry but no. It does'nt work like that.
remember physcis from school and force formula

same "pressure" in the manifold, increased "area" = more "force"

I am going to add a smidge more preload to the actuator and see if the boost "burp" it does alters and in what way.. Theory I have being the wastegate at that moment is being popped open slightly hence the dip, then closes and resumes its boost again. It does this on n75 and mbc, so seems a mechanical "turbo" thing.

    its working ok so far..
I will hope to do some performance times now tuffty has got my vbox gps performance box working.

I need to get some decent engine mounts for the lupo before I launch it tho... its all a bit wobbly in there currently.. way too much engine movement (poor downpipe!)

I've been there about 4 times in the last 12 months. Looking forward to seeing the real figures.

these are the real figures.. I dont see it making more than 300-315bhp region from 1.6bar peak boost.
thats some +40bhp over normal k03 hybrids however and does seem to drive as much power as usable on a daily driver fwd car to me. much more and you spin it away leaving no 11's everywhere. :p

i'm still baffled how you managed to keep that car out of bushes that must insane to drive , the only comparison i have is a mates corsa c with vxr astra engine in it with uprated turbo thats running 290bhp and he cant keep it in a straight line on boost

can i ask somethink of you bill, do you have any vagcom logs done on normal road maybe 4-5gear, boost logs from down low rpm?
and the same on the normal k03 hybrid (non plus) and the K04 hybrid?

just to compare how the boost is between those 3 different turbos?

not logs, well I am sure I do, but I dont have time to trawl thru them.
in spool terms, 2283.k03 version spools like a k04 hybrid (unsurprisingly as thats whats inside)

Turbo is £895+vat, the other parts and mods would need to be done here as part of the fitment.
550cc injectors, 80mm MAF, 3" TIP, mods to water pipe and gear cable mounting bracket etc

Lupo has some new vibratechnic engine mounts to go in and a stronger clutch as this has started to slip... Then testing will resume. I will remove the turbo and port it.. Its bog stock housing currently as the 1st test phase.

    regards
    bill

what was the clutch that started slipping Bill? Was it standard? or already an uprated item of some sort?

I'm hoping my VR6 clutch kit can cope with the hybrid in mine when the time comes to bolt it up
