Hi Bill! I compared the pictures from the K03 TIP-thread to pictures from page 2 of this thread and it would appear that the K04 compressor housing doesn't go below the top part of the gearbox. The transfer boxes highest point is slightly below the gearbox. Could i use the standard 180hp (or TT/S3) airbox with your 80mm TIP? I would change the MAF housing to TT/S3 version with 180hp element inside. In your email you said the turbo was a K04 with internally machined K03 turbine case, will my standard K03 oil and waterlines fit or do i have to get K04 ones? BR, Tomi
Impressive Bill never thought you´d see that high results. This has to be the absolute max for this turbo. I bet you got quite impressed yourself Time will tell with my "un-clipped" version. Currently new Franken mani is on its way from US. Will be fitted with EGT, witch seems to be a must on these small units due to their heat.
TIP I do for 80mm will have ports in the wrong positions I think. It sits lower in k03 position remember.. K04s sit higher so the 80mm tip wont fit. The billet part will from which you would need to make an intake like i did for the lupo. move water pipe, gear cables etc
hiya.. pleased yep. its max'd i think.. sustained abuse at this level will be too much I think. I will see what if anything can be done to help the k03 hotside flow more
Hi Bill Are the silicone elbows in that TIP normal 3" parts? So all i would need is the turbo inlet cone and that aluminium branch pipe and i could fabricate the rest using normal 3" pipes. Maybe use an ATP cobra head elbow if things get tight. Tomi
Prebs used a cobra head on his hybrid.. I used my 3" billet and 76mm 90' silicon elbow, then 90' 76mm alloy 90' bend onto which I welded the required stubs for outlets etc
I was having trouble finding it on my phone yesterday to copy the link and send it to my mechanic. So bumped it. Thanks for the help, I'm sure this will help him
