Everyone's worst nightmare!!

I managed to Kerb my N/S/F wheel this morning on the way into work. There's was slow moving traffic and I just wasn't concentrating, next thing I knew the dredded scrapping noise!!!

I'm gutted as I've only had the car for just under three months. The last time I kerbed an alloy was with one of my Gold Speedline alloys on my Impreza Turbo 6 years ago.

Sometimes you can be too carefull, this time I must have been 1/2 a-sleep. Too many things on my mind!!!

I've just built up the courage to have another look at it during lunch-time. It's 1/2 the way around the wheel although there's no big chunks missing just scrapping...

Is it worth getting Chips-Away or similar out to quote? What sort of prices are we talking to get it done to as new standard £40 - £50?

My friend has a business who refurbs wheels although I'm concerned about the paint colour match against the others. Knowing him he would suggest getting the 4 off done in a different colour.

used chips away once and they were brilliant. Really friendly guy and pretty reasonable too.
Get a free quote, you've got nothing to lose.

They also drive to you for a free quote so you don;t have to give up your time going from one place to the next.

good luck

I have done all of mine and buckled one too which will be claimed off the council for the 6 inch hole in the road that caused it.

This is one of the reasons all my wheels are getting powder coated black now that I have learned not to kerb them

Have you had much joy out of the Council as my mate buckled one of his wheels about 10 years ago and received nothing! He also went to the local press and still no result.

Makes me feel a lot better knowing I only have 1 bably scuffed wheel:D:D

I think Satin Black would look nice as I'm not too sure about the Gloss finish.

Hi

I've just paid out £200 to have four alloys on my old Golf done, thanks to the Ex (but its bigger than my metz was the excuse everytime she did it ) Traded in for a sportier model ;)

used these guys

Really good

I could get the damaged one refurbished & the total four re-painted in Satin Black at my mates garage who carry's out this work.

I'm not sure what his price would be, probably £30 - £40 per wheel. I may think about this, although I can always get chips away out to quote for the one wheel to be repaired.

My missus and I have kerbed all 4 within 6 months of getting the car. Don't bother worrying about it anymore and just make sure I don't get too near to anything that may damage it more.
