I know confusing but good, ideas etc. Like I said if its not going to be much more than swapping to a standard k03s for me then why not go hybrid and get more power and torque.

the usa site selling the hybrid ko3, the turbo's are from passats, arnt they mounted longitudanal? meaning different way of mounting the turbo compaired to golf mk3 cupra etc. so that option loks a bit dead

Gaz, I looked into this in some depth it ended up that most of the UK companies were charging around £600-800 to modify a k03S to use K04-023 internals ( that is assuming that your old turbo is in good condition, Turbo Dynamics said they have a skip full of returned customer units as 80% of them had cracks in the turbine housings, straight purchase being £1200) which is good for around 260-270 bhp. RobDon on here had a Ko4 Hybrid and pushed it as far as 290+ bhp but it didn't last long, Star told me that the turbo was good for a reliable 260 and no more, they used Turbo Dynamics MD 349 turbo's.
To get the benefit of this you need to uprate your MAF, injectors, FPR and Fuel pump to TT/s3 Ones and custom remap to suit.
JBS do the JBS04 which with the right mods will see knocking on 300bhp but it is expensive and is built to James's specs which are a closely guarded secret.
I am going with a LCR K04 as it will work out cheaper than the hybrids but give slightly more, 270-280 should be realistic.

yea its a funny area really want ihi but its the cost of clutch and other non power related items that bumps the price right up

i've bought a k03s which got some uprated parts, not exactly sure what though, booked in at jabba on the 26th of june,

the turbo is originally from AET, but like i said not sure exactly what its had done to it, will put some power figures up when its all done :)

Cool. Would be nice to see some strong figures for you mate.

Was speaking to someone the other day that can do a hybrid k03 turbo with k04 internals and get around 260bhp but again its a grand for the turbo! They also said that they knew of one of the hybrids that is milled out so much it changes shape when you clamp the tip on because its thin!
