LCR Buying checklist...

I've done a search for common faults, and was wondering if there was anything I had missed (going to view a few this week ).

Check for water/sealent/evidence of it in the passenger footwell

Check usual turbo car things (smokey start up, smokey on boost etc)

Check for the fluttering boost/powerloss thing I've read quite a lot about, including on part throttle?

Thats all I can really see for common faults, they seem to be pretty reliable motors heh Is there anything I have missed?

Fan check
engine on aircon off, fans not running
engine on aircon on fans on slow
If the fans pulse on off fast with aircon on then the slow speed circuit in fans is bust, (resistor inside fan burnt out) new fans needed warranty job unless car is more than three years old!

yeah or it will cost you £350 like mine is about too on top of my exhaust starting to make strange noises

pay for an aa or rac check , they find every single fault on the car , £150 well spent in my oppinion

Totally agree. My controller is being replaced under warranty this week.

I'd also check for creaking suspension under heavy acceleration and/or speed bumps. This points to an issue with the anti-roll bar bushes.

Thanks guys So if it has this fans issue, does this mean the aircon doesn't work properly? Or the cooling fans don't work properly? What does it mean if the low speed fans aren't working properly...?
