LCR DIY Quickshift???

Hi guys I've heard some of you have done your own DIY quickshifts.
Can anyone shine a light on these or tell me how to?

on my old car, i cut down the length of the gearstick, this shortened the travel to change gears and made it easier to change gears too. i havent done it on my cupra yet...give me 10 mins

it works i used to always cut them down, makes a big difference and you dont have to waste money on a kit, simple physics

is it possible to cut the gear lever down? i mean even tho the short shift sorts out the throw i still like a shorter lever?????????????????
