Hi JS, Oulton park is his home track - I want to get better at Donington then I may play the field a bit next year... be great to come to one close to you so we can meet up!

Sounds like a good plan - my car will hopefully look and feel very different 24 months from now. I think new suspension, stripped interior (including door panels), roll cage, induction, new race seats, new clutch, new brakes etc... if I can get the weight down below 1000KG that would be ace! Be great to have you doing the same thing to, we could enter track days together and rule! :D

I am off go-karting tomorrow, should be fun but at 6 foot 3 and 13 stone I am a bit big for it - always good for a ligh though!

Well were the same weight for a start and I'm 6 ft.

As said about the weight I don't think 1T is possible but as light as would be good.

All of the above is what I'm considering aswell but due to family etc I don't know how quickly I'll manage all the mods.

I'm going to get a bit of go karting action in during the winter to help me get lines and handling polished up in preparation for next summer.
I'd be well keen to meet up for a day or two. I'm very very keen to get over to the Nurburg ring but this will no be till the car and my driving is well sorted, maybe 2011 but we'll see.

I was karting this weekend - I have the most immense bruising on my back and arms! I look like I have been hit by a bus!!! The place I go to locally has a great track but the karts are cr4p. They are replacing them in October so I am looking to head back then.

The bloke admitted that there was a 1.6 second difference on Sunday between the best and worst Kart per lap (on a 24 second laptime) and a noice could add three or four seconds to that.... You have probably correctly guessed by now that I lost miserably! And it is not like I raised expectations by turning up in a race helmet with sparco fireproof balaclava and gloves :D

I would do the Nurburg with you next year if you fancy a few day break. There is a legend of a photographer that lives there who is rumoured to take some great shots. Plus (you knew this was coming) my trackman is there pretty often and is friends with Sabine and her parents...

Enough name dropping for one day - I still ache from sitting on that bike all day yesterday. At one point I looked behind and there were about 15 cars trailing me, I looked at my speedo and I was only doing 20MPH!!! It felt so fast!!! he he :D

We should put together a plan for our mods...i am quite excited at the prospect of doing some hardcore track days with an empty shell of an LCR refined to the max!!! :D

Aye aye Baz, going for the same days as you by the sounds of it
Do you think you'll get onto the hot marques days?
Your cars got to be worth over £10,000
I thought I would struggle with this

I don't think they inforce that rule too much to be honest. The night i was there an old style Integra Type R and few other cars that's book value was no where near £10k i'm sure we'll be fine. I'll take my receipts book with me lol.

The book value of my friends Cosworth is nowhere near £10k but it cost over £40k to build;)

It's a very nice car - looks like you have a carbon fibre bonnet CupraBaz - is it quite rigid? I have read a few reviews stating that they can be pretty flimsy and badly fitting (depending on where you get them from). Do you have any close up shots and finally where did you get it from and how much did it cost :D

I am starting to compile a list of things to do to drop the weight of mine for the track days...

We ordered all this bits today for David at Seremotors, it has been a pleasure so far to deal with him (which is never something you usually say when you deal with a Seat Dealer).

Next on the order list is R32 23mm ARB, bushes, screws and clips and Audi TT Roadster rear LCA bushes. These will be ordered tomorrow.

Hopefully these bits will be fitted in the next month or so.

So plan is to drop the front sub frame, buff and paint it. Replace all the bushes and bolts from it. When this is off fit the R32 23mm ARB.
The strutts and hubs will be buffed and painted aswell. The top mounts will be changed at the same time as I'm still getting a dodgy knocking noise and suspect these.
These were changed recently with GSF one which i have since found out are not for the LCR!!!
So new tracking rod ends, top mount bushes and bearings, LCA bushes and ARB bushes and if the problems still there it'll be a tin petrol for it:)
Once all of this is fitted I'll get the 4 wheels alignment done and the back roads will be blasted:):):)

This is all to get my car ready for track days next year.
As everything is being replaced this will allow me to decide which direction I want to go with in the suspension, coilovers or just springs and shocks

Blimey you really do still love the Leon hehe :) Should be good, I found replacing all the bushes just gelled the suspension setup much much better than the OE stuff.
