A Customer car which came in for a full turbo back exhaust and pipework making for FMIC installation, and mapping. Car runs a hybrid GT35 unit on a Badger5 tubular exhaust manifold, 38mm MVS Tial external wastegate. Full 3" turbo back exhaust which must comply with regs (have a cat, and be quiet enough for track use)

Birchills Silencers chosen as these are what I used on 3" turbo back system I made on the lupo. Comprises 3 full bore Silencers, and 100 Cell Race cat, with pipework venting Tial external gate pre-cat. Full vband after turbo (which was 4bolt and customer supplied)

Expected sound at 4700rpm 89db(A) based on Lupos similar system build. ( 105db(A) is a raceday max, and trackdays are often 95db(A) ) - It should be fine.

Cars build by customer, not by me. Most of the performance parts are Badger5 however :)

    anyhows... the pictures.

the subtle, 3" pipe which does look a little "lost" in the large valance opening. lol (its a racecar, fucntion over bling here.

The tail pipe hides the stack of work involved making this system to this high spec however.. It was a lot of work to make.

    front to back

Full 3" vbands employed throughout the system.

Note external 38mm MVS Tial vents pre-cat, seprate flexi, located downstream of turbine so no flow disruption.

I will let you know.. Its yet to be finally connected up.. Oil drain to get for it, then fluids and start her up/map etc

Its going to be the most powerfull car to date I will have run on my rollers tho.. I am expecting it to be a PIA to hold down, but should be good practice for mine and the mk2 golf which is close to being completed aslo on its GT3071.

GT35 and a bit... Power vs traction will be the usual issue - lol

    Very nice fabrication there Bill.

What championship is it being built to run in?

Standard wings, so no supercopa wide track?

    thanks mate

Its got all the ingredients to be rapido.. but its power will be fairly pointless vs combe list 1a tyres we have to run on.. Still potentially one of the most powerfull cars which could get out there tho.

The front uprights are pukka racecar, and with the added adjustibility of the cupra4 back end over a beam, should have the edge handling wise youd think

If i was building a 2wd turbo vag racecar, its where i would start

Would a mk2 leon cup car be eligible of coombe? Downforce comes to 2wd.....

sadly.. cupra4 type chassis run in 2wd not allowed :(
combes regs are a bit weird in many respects

mk2 not possible in copa form for the saloons as you could not buy that car from a showroom.. Awesome spec as it is.. I would luv one

I take it they won't let you use one of the Seat Cupra Championship cars either? That had the LCR front with cupra4 rear....... shame, would be great to see what the indy rear could do!

Supercopas were'nt Cupra front uprights. They were special ones.. which again would'nt fit combes regs.
