The guy i bought imy LCR off got it remapped stage 1 APR back in Feb '08

Now my question is he said when he got it mapped that he chose the fuel octane rating as 95??

a)Is that right..why would he do that as wouldnt the 98+ ron be better?

b) can i still put 99 ron Shell VPower or would that damage something?

c) & finally with the stage 1 remap he hasnt changed anything else like forge007 DV, TIP..do i need to get these done as the standard bosch DV's normally go

a, not sure why someone would say that an more octane more bang
b, Id only assume so as its an adaptive ECU so will learn to run better on v power after a few tanks
c, Bosch DV change it most people change it on there standerd cars due to it failing, An i was told the Standerd TIP collopse's under high boost so needs changing

Hope my info is right an ok

For a) I'd have thought he was just playing it safe:

Map it for 95 and put 98 in wouldn't be a problem.
Map it for 98 and put 95 in could cause issues from running poorly, to knacking the engine.

At least, that's how it was explained to me.

I had my old car mapped to 98 RON and they were quite persistent in checking that I'd only put 98+ in it.
