Jez Carl, i would love to through in a quaife but to be honest between, taxing the car, new tires, TIP, Largeport head, turbo, Shim kits, Oil, Brake fuel, labour etc.... i have spend the bones of 2k this month on the car,,,,,

The clutch is totally screwed, nearly got caught out yesteday overtaking a lorry, couldnt get 4th gear while on the wrong side of the road.

Luckily my NLS shim kit for the 02m has literally just arrived, the trans will be dropped on monday and a new slave and shim kit will be fitted, fingers crossed this fixes the issue....

ANyone know if any guides to installing cam shaft out there?
Hope this cures your problems. i'm running a sachs sre clutch on dual mass fly at the moment and it feels good in case you need another. Helix have an excellent rep also.

Just buy an updated Sachs performance cover approx 220 pounds.
or ebay your existing clutch and buy a new sachs sre clutch, mine cost £520 inc release bearing plus a new flywheel. The pedal feels firmer but thats an indication of the clamping force for a setup thats guaranteed to 380ft/lbs. i have my old dual mass available which has only done 14k and looks fine.
Once this box is pulled out you don't want to reinstall in again.

I prefer dual as it feel more stock, also just to point out the dmf is not the problem here. Single can chatter, I seen a few YouTube video's of lcr's chattering and it sounded awful.

Well the new NLS shims are in with a new Slave, while i cannot confirm or deny if the shims actually work as the slaves usually blows out after a few months, i can confirm the pedal feels the same if not a bit lighter with the shims, that could be in my head though but for $90 its worth a shot.

While it was there i also got them to drain all the brake fluid for 5.1 stuff, bad news is the front right ball joint has excessive wear, so i ordered up 2 new ones that i will fit this week, 60e a pair if you dont mind.

cool.. Not heard of these before.

thanks Rob

Do i smell an opportunity, they would be a welcome fix for any aftermarket clutch, especially considering the amount of threads i read about issues with the 02m these days.

Another thing i forgot to mention, i seen the mechanic bleed the clutch a novel way, he connected a tube from the brake calliper to the clutch bleed valve and bleed the system this way as the air is pushed back into the reservoir, he said he always did it this way for clutch systems that were difficult to bleed.

Sup yall.

Clutch seems to be still going fine,(fingers crossed) i replaced both ball joints at the weekend as the front right was worn, i replaced both sides just for good measure, looking at those from ARB bushes while i was in there i think there next on the hit list.

Thank god the weather is picking up, i gave the car a good clean, clayed the winter load of tar and crap off the paintwork and gave her a good coat of wax, i still can't believe how much the plat grey cupra's clean up, still a super attractive looking car imo, the paintwork feels so smooth after claying.

Did a job on the exhaust aswell, the rear box wasn't hanging level and it was bugging the $hite out of me, tis all good now.

F23 should be with me shortly, yipeeeeee.
