Could this be added to a sticky somewhere?

LCR Teardrop folding wing mirror removal

Did mine yesterday, it took literally 15 minutes.

Step 1: Remove 2 screws from the bottom of the door card.

Step 2: Separate the door handle ( its in two halves which just unclick)

Step 3: Undo the 2 large screws that go into the metal of the door.

Step 4: GENTLY prise the door card away. It feels like it will break but it wont (well mine didnt). If you can get someone to hold the door card for you as this will stop you having to disconnect all the cables inside.

Step 5: Remove the triangular trim on the inside of the mirror.

Step 6: Remove the foam from the hole that surrounds the cable.

Step 7: Unclip the cable

Step 8: Undo the 2 screws that hold the mirror on and the whole thing will come off.

Installation is the opposite. Absolute piece of piss.

The dealer wanted £40!!! to fit.

When you have got the mirror off you will notice that there are some small white plastic screw thread thingys, these need to come out, but only if you new ones with the new mirror.

yes mate, mine was new from SEAT in Derby. The covers are a rip off though. They come unpainted, so about £25 for the covers, £40 to get them painted.

Im getting some chrome ones soon I think

some may say lala land....
Nice clear guide, thanks. i prefer pics as easier to understand, but can't have everything.
When you were inside did you notice if the cabling could be used for the electric folding bit, as then i only need to change switch inside :)

Does this guide remove the entire wing mirror, or just enough to swap over parts?

I'm tempted to swap by LCR 210 mirrors (Golf Style square ones) for some teardrop mirrors but painted in black to contrast against the yellow of the car.

(idea stolen from my Mrs' Puma Millennium)
