Just used some thin cable from maplin. ( still thicker than the car wiring)

Yup cut the cables in the a pillar as easier to run cables up to the a pillar that the light itself. And yes you can use block connector instead mate.
The a pillar. Grab it at the bottom and pull outwards. About 3 clips holding it in place.

Good work. But you do know you can just take the door card off, then tsp into the controller ans turn it on with vagcom????

Right im not that tech savi, could somebody explain what this means????

I get the taking the door off and running the LED strip light wires into a pin in the door block, but what does TSP mean? and what does Controller mean?

Does Anybody know which pin in the door block your meant to tap into?

Im fancying this as my easter project to escape the kids for a couple of hours...

I think he meant "tap" not tsp and the controller being the loom/block connector.

Unless you have vagcom don't bother doing it this way. If you got someone to find the puddle/safety door lights in vagcom; activate then test the contact points at the door connector.

Easier way is as described previously in the thread!

looking at doing this myself but having a different style of led but having trouble with it, i cant really justify messing about with the interior light so im looking to do what jake was saying but again dont know where to go from, i want to find a wire in the door that switches and not mess about with the light.

any thoughts

I think this on my to do list, along with Vxr front seats triple R splitter new alloys carbon dipping and possibly R32 exhaust setup....

But think puddle lights first.
