    Just fitted these today https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/123820699024

What a big improvement ! A much more intense light, plus gives an instant flash compared to the incandescent bulbs fitted as standard.

Made an offer of £10 which was accepted plus quickly delivered too.
Other sellers have the exact make of bulb for sale for £13+

Having already fitted LED reversing bulbs, I can now say the Ateca is fully LED equiped, well pleased with the result.

I did these ones VANSSI 2x PY21W LED Bulb BAU15s 7507 LED Amber 21SMD Replacement Bulb Turn Signal Indicator Lamps High Performance Black Series:

    https://forums.seatcupra.net/index....a-changing-the-rear-indicators-to-led.439658/

I copied the bulbs the Spanish forum was putting in at the time. 21 SMB, you count up all the led plates and it makes 21. The more the merrier. You can visually check whether there is a Led bulb in there by looking through the cover, incandescent ones also have an after glow so they dont go bang off as LEDs do.

It was noted that the indicator bulbs on the Ateca at release were dim. Not sure whether there are models in the range now that aren't full, full LED. They were naughty at launch and called the Xcellence 'full Led' when three sets of bulbs were not, rear indicators, reversing and front fog. TIhe other lesser models at launch were nott even LED.

Did a thread with links on bulb changing:

    https://forums.seatcupra.net/index....d-to-led-for-the-2017-ateca-xcellence.439659/

The fog lights are tricky to get at, I don't often use them so decided I wouldn't bother with them given they probably wouldn't blow during the life of the car. The rear indicators, more of a safety feature since they are dim in the original form compared with other cars and gives better reliability. Whilst the reversing lights getting those bright means you get excellent vision through the reversing camera.

Yes I forgot that I'd previously changed the fogs to LED so they match the colour of the headlights, I had hoped to later activate the cornering lights function, but oh dear ! removing those trims from around the fogs, not as easy as the manual would have you believe.

I'm still not too impressed with the brightness from the led reversing lights however, thinking of wiring an additional led light fitting under the rear bumper trim, like I'd previously done on a 2014 Leon I had, its just the task of locating the wire to supply the 12volt supply to it, (think it was grey with black stripe in the Leon).

There is always the ones I linked to if they aren't the ones you used. Pretty bright about 35W equivalent equivalent each. 45 SMBs. That's what the German Ateca board people were fitting.

The ones I fitted were the type with the "projector" end and a series of leds around the bulb, no problem as I can buy the type you suggested and see for myself if they suit my needs better, I'm sure if they don't I can find one of my mates who can make use of them.

The projector end is the type I fitted to the indicators which you wonder how good is that end given they go in sidewise as I recall. The rear reversing you need the light to come out side wise to hits the reflector. There is an image off them fitted, not illuminated and illuminated. The side edges packed with SMBs hit the reflector.

Has anyone got an MY20 Ateca yet? I am would like to know if they have LED rear indicators instead of the tungsten fitted to the MY19 models.

If they definitely haven't then I can order some new LED ones ready for when the car arrives.

Not to answer the question but when you get, if it's got the wifi infotainment unit, the sd card type, the firmware / hardware serial number to resolve whether they sorted out the import of user Pois, they messed it up with the My19.

I'm the developers technical author to his program so it seems since he links to the thread on his page across Vag cars. If it gets fixed good to know. Basically its the My19 wifi standard infotainment firmware wasn't tested correctly with the hardware so they messed up user POI import, my interpretation rather then Seat saying we've withdrawn support for it. It's fine on all other My19 Seat infotainment units.

I’ve skimmed through some of that thread and noticed your valuable input and the issue you had. As soon as I get mine I will try and see if I can get anywhere and if the issue has been fixed.

So obviously changed the other one too, see what it looks like tonight when its dark, thanks again mate !

    1. Got the cornering lights activated thanks to the app in my obdeleven.
    2. And in respect of the led bulbs I've fitted as Tell suggested, yes, a marked improvement in the dark.

Now the only thing missing is the alarms aubile warning chirp, have activated it but no sound like loads of others, I'm a bit surprised that Seat never thought to make it audible as standard, my thinking is if your kessy was cloned and your car was in the process of being stolen from outside your house, surely that chirp ( if loud enough) might give you a clue that your car was being stolen, I know the indicators flash but who'd see them if your curtains were drawn.

If you bought the professional license for the OBDEleven you could try this taken from the Spanish Ateca board. With translation below. I've never tried this mod is suppose to be tried and tested. It will make the horn beep to annoy the neighbours. They had another mod to enable the horn alarm. Spanish cars come without alarms. You might need to work on it a bit if it interacts with the fitted alarm. Self help :).

Ps the OBDEleven micro payment apps are known to be unreliable why it's better to buy the Pro license that unlocks the "full" VCDS programming then you can use anything published for the OBDEleven or mod VCDS ones. Not all of the micro payment apps are tested on all of the models.

    Translation:

SOUND CLAXON WHEN OPENING AND / OR CLOSING THE CAR

This mod is for when you do not have a SEAT alarm, and it makes the horn sound as if it were the alarm beep activated. You can set it to sound only when opening, only when closing, both and also activate / deactivate sound using the infotaiment menu option.

    1. Go to Module 09 - Electronic switchboard
    2. Enter Response Signs
    3. In global Akustische rueckmeldung, change to "On"
    4. In Akustische Rueckmeldung Signalhorn, change to "On"
    5. In Akustische rueckmeldung entriegeln, change to "On", this sounds like the horn (twice) to open.
    6. In Akustische rueckmeldung verriegeln, change to "On", this sounds like the horn (once) when closing.
    7. in Dauer der Akustischen Rueckmeldung vom Einfachhorn, leave "normal" for normal beep, put "kurz" for short beep.
    8. In Menuesteuerung akustische rueckmeldung, change value to "On", this will allow us to activate or deactivate the horn by menu, menu option in the Infotaiment / Settings / Doors
    9. Confirm, code 31347

Yes I do have the Pro version, but I'm very wary of doing long coding, some two years ago on my first Leon I had I'd messed about doing loads of lighting mods and ended up with no near-side Drl and the wrong rear indicator flashing compared to the front, car was in dealers for nearly a week and a half, eventually sorted after two control units had to be replaced ( that was my fault ) the bill came to just over £1000.
I had made notes as to every stage of each mod I'd done as I did it, but still couldn't figure it out retracing my steps, so obviously now I'm reluctant as to doing mods that way.

Well you screen shot each screen before and after, power and home button together, check it's in the Gallery. The app also retains what you have done through history so you can go back to how it was.

I guess they replaced the units and reprogrammed them from clean rather than reprogramming as is or may be you just got a fault in one of those units unrelated to what you did, but clearly if you get carried away making changes you can dig a big hole for yourself if you cant unpick them. You have to be methodological and backup.

The micro payment apps are equally running a script of changes. Saying this you are dependent on the Odbeleven programming being correct. I've not had a problem with it.
