I don't anyone gets offended :) You are absolutely right tho, it's will be harder to sell, more expensive to insure and will never see your money back. That's it must mean more than just a car to someone to go for such a big and expensive project. I wouldn't recommend to anyone and I wouldn't do it again but I love the feeling car is different :)

See a 2.0l Tfsi in a golf I can see the point in but swapping engines when you have both cars sat on your drive is stupid Esp as it's a full car your insurance will be loads more than a respray on the 1.8t swap the bumpers from the 1.6 wheels etc then Break the 1.6 that will cover the costs for the paint job , then ur quids in for insurance

my point of view

decent spray job £2.5-3k??

1.8t i paid just over £2k for and am gna get over half of that back on spares ....

also gain expericence from it .

also the white parts arent gna fetch anyhwere near as much money as the white is rare as! :D

I would say, for piece of mind you should swap everything from 1.8T :) otherwise there's will be complications like with mine...
