Leon Boot Not Locking

Yo peeps,

On pressing the lock button on the key fob all the doors lock and the indicators flash........but the boot dusnt lock!!

Tried the key in the hole but that wont turn either, yet the S badge works to open it fine.

Ne ideas peeps?

aint got a light in the boot dude, an yeh its shut cus the dash light isnt on sayin something is open.

asume all leons have it on the right hand side next to cigreet lighter socket. have a quick search, some people had an a f faulty wiper cuasing water to leak into lock causing it to fail

Can you hear the solenoid/motor moving when locking?, you will need to remove the boot trim.
I know Steveo has seen this before but have a look at this for the actual pics of what to look for when the trim is off. Pics and arrows show the movement of parts. If nothing is moving when the key is pressed then you will need a solenoid/motor probably.

its going into Seat tonight as im still under warranty, so il try and get the problem posted up. However i think your right Allan, the solenoid/motor is not moving or making any noise.

Oh should have said, will save you ripping your fingers to bits :), I suspect then it is the motor as I've heard of a few failing early on within the warranty period. Although sometimes a faulty wiper hose can play havoc with the boot electrics :happy:

yeh i mean it is X reg at the end of the day, but meh, 6 months warranty they can sort it out!! I just wondered if there was summit simple rather than losin me car for the day, as they havent got any courtesy cars available.
