yeap, based off of the concept car, and some of those little bits have ended up on the FR anyway.

Purple was choosen after lots of research.... i.e: I could only change the stock colour so much in the limited time available

That was the only reason I decided to go to the Motorshow this year.
I am looking forward to seeing it. I noticed that Honda may be revealing the Civic Type R too.

Should be a good day out. Hopefully I will see some of you guys there.

Doubt it, they've got the highest output Diesel in the FR haven't they?

What will this news do to sales of the FR? Presumably lots of people will put off ordering the FR until they see what the Cupra looks like. If the Cupra looks really good and the pricing is competitive it will harm sales of the FR.

When the original Cupra was introduced nobody knew that anything better was planned so everybody (including me) could buy it as the top of the range Leon. With the new model it's not so clear cut, as at each stage we all know there is a better model waiting round the corner.

depends on if you want a 17k car 'now' or a 19k car in 8 months time.

Unlikely that there will be a diesel range topper, 170bhp is already 'a lot' from a 2.0 TDi (more than any other OEM I think)

I'm hoping to make it to see the car at launch. I'll be the one with a long brown coat with some suspicous stains handing around the seat stand.

Its definite yes!! Early 2007 in the UK.

This is an official press release from SEAT UK.

Its not expected there will be a diesel version according to the press, as m0rk has already said the 170bhp in the FR is already a range topping engine. At this stage though its wrong to speculate.

We'll know more in July, where its likely expected prices and specifications will be revealed.

Looks like the spy shots are probably the Cupra underneath the FR bodykit - with cupra zorst, brakes, wheels. Will be interesting to see if/how they beef up the body kit even more....

Hopefully the Aero kit gives us some clues.
