Leon FR 150 or Leon FR 184?

Hi. I recently posted a thread on purchasing my first Leon and moving finally away from owning a Mini. Although I still need to test drive the Leon I have sat in one and it feels nice. I also like the stock audio as well which is on my tick list.
Now I have a budget of £11k plus my car for part ex so a total of around £13k to find my Leon.
Ive opted for a FR Diesel, minimum of a 63 plate with a maximum of 25,000 miles on the clock. Now for £13k I can get a 64 plate 184FR with around 20,000 on the clock. For £11.5k I can get a 150FR with the same mileage.

Has anyone driven both? Is it worth the extra £1.5k to get the 184BHP, can you feel the difference in the accelaration after driving both cars? I know the 184 is 7.5secs compared to 150 at 8.4secs but having never owned a car that does sub 10 I wasnt sure if there was a real difference or a slight difference? I do really need to test both out but a heads up would be good?
Is everything else the same, the steering, suspension etc? Also I thought the stock alloys look a bit ordinary but didnt want to sacrifice them for bigger alloys but a bumpier ride.
Also is 50MPG average achievable on both cars?

certainly look for one with the 18's.
Initially I wasn't too bothered about 17's or 18's but I'm now glad I did get the 18's. They fill the arches so much better.
Also non car folk who commented on my new car all mentioned the wheels in a positive manner.

on the 150 v 184 thing. I never even bothered looking at 150's I had to have the 184. Mainly because if I had settled for a 150 at some point I'd have ended up wishing it had a bit more poke.

For me the relatively small extra cost for more power/torque, the bigger brakes and the trick rear suspension was a no brainer.

The only issue I had was the 3dr 184 were quite rare up here. Loads of 5dr 150's. So I had to look harder and travel further to get mine.

on the MPG's

I'm averaging 48 mpg in mine. My commute pushes it into the mid 50's but then out playing at the weekend pulls it back down.

I've got a 150 and very happy with it. I don't need the extra torque. Plenty of overtaking capability and great fuel economy. 60mpg on the motorway. Not bothered about getting a 184. Would rather have the sunroof for the extra cash.

I have the 184, test drove the 150 more to see the trim than the engine. The difference in torque and acceleration always puts a smile on my face, if it's only 1.5k I'd say go for the 184 everyday of the week it's a great car!

+1 184
50+ MPG is very easy to achieve, there seems to be some good examples on Gumtree

You'll kick yourself in 6 months time if you choose the 150 and you'll be wishing for that extra oomph.
