I have a Leon FR 1.4TSI, I have tried to find what kind of lamp bulbs there are for the licence number plate but no information in the manual. I want to change them to LED ones. Any of you guys who knows?
Are you sure? This vid seemed to suggest they were LEDs http://youtu.be/hYv7uw0JWjQ?t=3m33s You'll have issues replacing the bulbs if the voltage is different to the originals the car thinks a bulb has blown and throws a warning on the dashboard.
Yes i have ordinary bulbs, have it confirmed fr.o.m. seat seller also. Have replaced in previoys Volvo without any problems but just cant find any information what size.
I haven't actually looked at the bulbs but I did notice one day when I was unlocking the car in the dark that they were nice 'n bright 'n white - far too white to be normal bulbs! Will investigate further shortly!
Are you sure you haven't got led ones, the led ones are not just the standard type fiting with a 32mm incandescent festooned which seat changed to a led festoon bulb They are a complete sealed unit with two smd type leds soldered to a green circuit board So your options are, see if you already have leds, there is a small plastic catch on the number plate light, push it in and the light unit will drop out If you haven't got leds then you probably have the standard unit with a incandescent festooned bulb and you can change it to led, although you may need to recode the unit with vagcom to stop any bulb failure warnings on the dash Or buy the complete led light unit from a Seat dealer and fit that
