Limp mode . Belt sound??????

So I'm stuck on the snake pass after the leon decided just as I got to the top, to go into limp mode. Drove it a little further then started to hear a whirring noise under load , sounds belt like. Doesn't look like anything has snapped thank God. Any ideas while I wait for the recovery.
