Hi everybody,
Basics about me, my names dan (obvs) I have a 53 plate leon (tdi 150) which I love, currently on 88k, I use it 'just' for driving to and from work which is 120 miles a day on a motorway, so the only mods I've done so far are an armrest and remap (still ongoing, as they tune it to my specs for economy and kinda missed the mark a little) still upped the power to 178bhp, but like I said, wanted a bit more economy and slightly missed the rev range for Eco! Does pull nice now.
I do all my own work on the car, inc servicing, modifying and maintaining, the only thing I'll get someone else to do is the cambelt as when I come to sell it, it will look better having it done by a garage, which is a mate anyway so no problem there!
I've already fixed a few problems on the car (do love the search button, and will only be posting if I can't find what I'm looking for), so far the main one I fixed was the wipers not working, they were getting a bit slow and i was thinking, oh no, the motors had it, 1 morning (dry luckily) i turned the car on, wiped the window and they were cronically slow, turned out to be a siezed linkage, took it all out the car, stripped, sanded, greased and put it back together again, this would have taken me ages to find if I had'nt used the forum! It's still good : )
I have 1 quick question, any other mods I can do to improve economy on a run, read a few things about the egr, and turning it down, or just unplugging the vac line, will this help of hinder me?! I'm running the millers diesel additive as well.
Just a final word, my other car is a lovely supercharged s2000 which is the fun weekend toy so the Leon is a nice balance to that for work, still goes round corners nice and the torque is fantastic : )
