Losing boost?

For about a week i have had an issue with my 180 leon.

When the turbo spools up at any revs it makes a strange noise.

Im doubting its the turbo as its been making this noise for about a week without it getting worse.

Also the noise dkesnt get worse as the turbo boosts harder.

Anyone else had this issue?

Anyone pin point a problem?

I was thinking the diverter valve

Its hard to describe.

When the turbo is first spooling up its fine its only when it is on full boost the noise starts.

Im going to check the bearing on the turbo today.

Sounds like the vanes are tapping on the turbo as it spins.

Havent had a look at were it is yet.

No not really I'm trying to get a friend one, an original, eBay £200 odds, euro car part £350 none original tho, I'm just waiting for scrapies to get one in

Silly question mate lol they won't last as long, and Chinese ones stay away

If you get one from the scrapies you can then get it looked over before you stick it in your car least you no you have an original part that's been serviced

Yeah i know to stay away from chinese crap. Wouldnt reconbe better option if there available?

Yes, ether take yours out and get it serviced or get another from scrapies then get that serviced

Earlier i was asking how easy it is to get to the turbo to check the bearing

Never taken a turbo out myself so can't say mate, but u can see the turbo if you look down the back of ur engine next to ur brake fluid reservoir or go under the car and look up where ur down pipe and cat is, someone else should no or search on YouTube for a video
