I've got a passenger mirror unit arriving today as my unit is broken. I remember seeing someone saying you can access this through the speaker if removed. Is this correct??

Is there a link available for a guide on this as I can't seem to find one anywhere

Hi Potter
I have only replaced the n/s electric operated unit.you do remove the bass speaker but there is a lot more work involved, door inner trim, loosen door handle ,uncouple window and tape in up position ect.it's a fair old job.

I'm confused a bit here as one pdf document states to tape the window up with it down about 2 cm but then tells you 2 steps later to lower it half way down but surely that not possible if it's telling you to tape it up

When I replaced the door lock I needed to lower the window about an inch to disconnect the glass from the runner, tape up the glass, then lower the runner further to be able to remove the door card

Ah ok that makes sense so the window is disconnected from the runner on the doorcard

Well I've done everything apart from getting the 2 screws in through bottom of door card to the bottom of window runners. I've given up now though as I've spent hours on it and I've resigned to sending it into a garage for someone else to do. Absolutely ridiculous design that is.

The two longest screws at the bottom that secure the regulator? Pile of **** design!

Screw them in loosely before you refit and they should just slot into place at the bottom of the door. Then you can line everything else back up.

Screw the regulators in first but leave enough thread so you can slot them back into place on the doorframe, if that makes sense!

Yea I was thinking this so basically just insert the longer screws through door card and into bottom of regulators just to get them started and then slot door card back on.

Door the regulators at the bottom just pull tight against the door frame itself or do they slot into the bottom of door frame?

They should just pull tight against the door frame, it's getting them into position that is a pain :cartman:

Well sorted this afternoon thanks. Don't think I'll do it again though. Worst bit is lining the 90 degree hooks at bottom and half way up on runners into plastic latches on door cards
