If it's only two torx screws holding it in I wouldn't dream of paying someone to fit it. Seems a bit expensive if the parts £91 when only a year ago it was £61?

My Leon FR had spline screws not torx - star shaped with more like 20 points - torx are only 6 pointed star screws... Bought part direct from seat for £59 and asked garage guy to borrow his spline tool as spline bits are hard to find...

Do you know what the bit Letter/number is for the 2 spline screws on either side of the boot's locking mechanism? I need to swap mine out and cant seem to find what i need to get it off

Bolt is an M8 triple square.

Do not use the part I listed form eBay, it needs to be modified to fit (excess plastic in the sides and near the manual release, also the connector doesn’t clip on), boot feels like I have to slam it now to get it to close.

I’ve left it fitted as I need a boot, but I will be swapping out for a genuine one.

Bloody £80 for a genuine one now with the superseded part number 1P0827505E9B9. Bought a cheap knock off from Amazon for £20 but the plastic mouldings aren't right so I had to modify it to fit as my old one had stuck in the closed position so needed to fit it anyway. It works but it doesn't work great, you can tell it was made on the cheap. Anyone managed to find a decent knock off that isn't terrible or is stumping for a genuine one the only real option?

I had exactly the same problem with my replacement, ended up cutting and sanding the corners of the plastic moulding but so far had no problems with it. I figured for the £60 saving and a relatively quick job I could always replace it again if needs be.
