I'm trying to source parts for my mk2 '98 Ibiza. The mk2 Ibiza is based on a VW Polo isn't it? Does anyone know what year, or mk Polo shares some parts with the mk2 Ibiza?

I'm after a front panal/ slam panal ect.., bumper, grill, bonnet, RAD, air bag and steering wheel. Does anyone know which (if any) of these parts can come from a Polo, and if so what mk or years?

A million thanks in advance.

Most of the front end, although it looks similar - is different.

The ibiza has a larger front end - it's longer :)

And that's the Mk4 Polo it's similar too mate.

the Ibiza is a few inches wider at the the front compared to the regular polo hatch (polo varient & saloon is the same)

The cordoba/mk2 ibiza and polo 6n share alot of the same parts, althoug the bumpers and grills etc are different, but use the same bonnets, slam trays, radiators etc etc

Steering wheels and airbags will be different as none of the 6n polos came out with airbags at all.

6n polo's were released from 1997 to 2001

Ibiza / Cordoba mk2 are built on the same technical base as Polo 6N1 (1997/2000)
The body postpones little...

On the other hand, Polo 6N Saloon / Estate is exactly the same that Cordoba Saloon/Estate, only difference: calender, front bumper and rear lights

I have a slam/front panel with rad off a mk2 ibiza if any good mate. Whats your location?

Mk2 ibiza(facelift model) shares the same panels as mk4 polo saloon, estate(Not hatchbacks) and mk2 caddyvan's

A ibiza grill wont wont with polo light and vice-versa. you'll need the complete bits from 1 model only.

Hatchback polo is smaller and nothing fits panel wise.

Interior parts can come from a hatchback, like glovebox's, trims, switches etc but the whole dash is shorter!

steering wheel is the same but the airbag versions have VW on them so no use anyway.

The saloon Polo and caddy headlights are the same that those ibiza / Cordoba (I moreover saw a Caddy with Ibiza Angel Eyes headlights)
Only the radiator grill and the bumper differ

Believe me mate, headlights are slightly different where they meet the grill.

I'd know as i tried an ibiza light on my caddyvan.

To fit the angel things in polo saloon/estate caddyvan, you trim the grill

We going to have to agree to disagree mate

Been discussed many times on vwcaddy.com that the grill needs to be trimmed for those angel eyes to work on vans.

I should've taken a pic of mine so you could see

I think the difference is that you're talking about angel eyes which are aftermarket items................
