hey people
daft question. i'm just sorting out moving the batttery to the boot.
i know about the power cable etc..

but the original ground cable.. can this be cut off, or does it have to still be grounded?
as the battery will have it sown ground cable in the boot...

cheers

well i have one little problem..

my car proper struggles to start up, but does start eventually!
and when doing this, the radio resets itself.

is this due to cables being too thin? bad earthing?

once its going, it feels okay to drive./

the battery relocation wont cause this problem cus its something else along the lines my car is all fine now i sorted it out properly, just make sure your earth is good, take a earth from battery onto the spare wheel hole, rub down the patch and connect wel you should have no probs

could be a loose permanent live check connections

more weight at the rear balancing the car more, and making the front lighter, more room for extra bits and pieces like oil catch cans, bigger air filter cones etc

Thought I would bring this thread back up as I am looking to do this but got a few questions...

I plan stick the battery in the boot however just want to clear few things up.

I will need to extend the ground to the boot which will be straight forward

The power cable again can be extended to the boot however want i want to know is the black fused 'dizzy block' on the battery, can i replace this with a proper fused dizzy block and then run that one cable to the boot? so have just three cables going to the boot and get rid of the crappy black dizzy block?

Extend the ground to tyhe boot? You got a negatibe terminal on your battery mate, short piece of cable to a good clean point in your boot will do. :D

Only need one cable to the boot.

Your making this way too complicated.

Easiest way is to run one cable from the battery direct to the starter motor and earth the battery in the boot. Thats it.
