My Build

Build is probably the wrong word as what I’m going for isn’t that extreme but I thought I’d show off my FR and the changes I’ve made to it since picking it up in January this year.

I bought this 66 plate, 7500 mile 1.4 TSI FR DSG having come from a 330ci BMW - needed to save some money and the BMW wasn’t exactly cheap to keep going. Fun though!!!

I went for the leon as my last job in the motor trade until I left in 2013 was with seat and I had the first leon FR Sc registered on the road in Swindon at the time.

So that’s the day I picked it up (Snows Yeovil supplied - can’t fault them).

Modification number 1 - set of wind deflectors.

Car play followed shortly afterwards.

Then a gloss black wrap behind the front number plate.

Pair of FR badges for the front wings followed.

Followed a week later by a set of DSG paddle extensions.

Carista enabled park pilot, needle sweep, carbon backgrounds on dashboard and infotainment and cornering fogs.

Bit of a pause in proceedings and then out of nowhere a DTUK box turned up (at least that’s what I told the missus!!!). Transformed the car.

A set of replacement gloss black mirror caps is the latest addition. I do have a gloss black front splitter on order as well as replacement washers to get rid of the pathetic streams that currently come out.

It gets washed as often as possible with demon foam, megs shampoo, megs polish and megs quikwax to keep it looking as fresh as possible.

Overall I love it. Only done about 3k miles in it and it’s returning a long term average of about 43mpg - this does rise to over 50mpg on decent runs but it’s mainly used for commuting to and from work daily (about 8 miles a day).

Pathetic streaming washer jets replaced today with the mist type. Nice easy swap.

Splitter day today.

Opted for bumper off approach which made it easier to line it up and secure it. Looking good.

Nice work!

My splitter will be fitted on Friday hopefully :2nd:

Have you thought about getting the front bumper bottom lip wrapped black, I think that would make the front look even better.

My 2 pence lol

Cheers

On my to do list bud. That and the back strip behind the rear plate. Spoiler, diffuser and side skirts too. And I’ve decided that it needs lowering a bit too. Work in progress. I’d love to break the credit card out and just buy the bits and get on with it but I’ve got a wedding to finish paying for so that comes first.

Oh I feel your pain lol getting married in October.

Fortunately I set up the spreadsheet that has all the costs and I snuck in a cost for a car to get me to the wedding but instead I have it to blow it on my car... Turns out I had some issues so it's going on some maintaining as well as a few bits lol

It's all in the spreadsheets!

Cheers

Pretty pleased with that. Peeled off the overspray which was quite therapeutic.

Looking good fella.

Bilt Hamber gear is spot on, I use their wheel cleaner, snow foam and clay bar.

Well my new snow foam lance is a great improvement over the standard karcher one.

Still came up well with just a snow foam and wash/wax shampoo.

Oh and my cars now famous.
