This is an appeal to any aerodynamics specialists that may be in this forum or even Seat!
Can somebody please invent a diffuser to go under the rear end in order to stop these cars plastering themselves in c**p every time it rains or the roads are just a little bit damp! [:@]

Maybe we should all club together and rent a wind tunnel for a day with a smoke machine!

Thank you and goodnight.:)

Yeah! I thought it was me just being fussy but don't they get covered quick:confused:

Last week, I cleaned the rear lights and number plate, drove 80 miles and you couldn't read the plate at all[:@]

I thought about mud flaps, but would they stop all this poo forming so quickly??

As far as I'm concerned, there is nothing they could do to improve on the shape of the MK2, it flows from one end to the other, and looks 'the dogs' from every angle.............there isn't a lot of cars you can say this about - in terms of design, but then they probably don't get as shi**y at the back as ours do:D

What do we do? keep on washing the damn things I suppose:rolleyes:

I have the flaps on mine and it never gets dirty enough to obscure the rear plate. I do get weird patches of muck down to aerodynamics around the rear doors but it's the glass of the door mirrors that annoy me. They seem to get covered in muck really quickly.

Before the Leon, I had a MK2 Focus Zetec and I suppose it was just the shape, but the slightest of rain/muck and you couldn't see through the side windows and consequently, the mirrors:blink:

So much so, I always carried some window cleaner stuff and kitchen roll round with me and had to use it regularly!

At least the Leon seems to have a never ending washer bottle:D, and............I just can't fault the wipers.......best I've ever had, on anything!

I reckon it's a case of taking the rough with the smooth eh?

Even with all it's little faults and flaws, I still think the Leon is a good all rounder with a lot of plus points, but as you say, I wish it would stay a little cleaner, longer, 'cause they sure look good when they are clean:D

It drives me mad.

You wash it and wax it, then drive it a few miles when it’s damp/wet and the back end is filthy.

I thought getting the mud flaps would sort it, doesn’t help that much to be honest.

I have a white Cupra with rear flaps, its a repmobile and does 35 K a year.

I have solved the muck problem, found an ethnic car wash, does a brill job (wheels as well) for £ 2.99 and get a free air freshner as well.:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

The white one always looks dirty, while lunagrey always looks reasonably clean.

Mud flaps make a BIG difference, I didnt wash my car for 3 weeks earlier this month and you could still read the number plate!

Do they really work that well?

I must admit, I've been toying with the idea, but I prefer it with no flaps (no offence meant) but the SEAT one's are quite contoured and seem to look the part.

Have you got the OEM flaps?

I am really getting pi**ed off with the crud all over the back end.

My car has stayed completely clean for three days:D
But..................it has been parked on the drive for three days:whistle:

Thanks,

Ian

Yeah ive got the OEM flaps.... I bought them off a member on here and they look good on a black car as like you say they are contoured quite well. I think they make the car look better from the rear if anything.

I only had the car for about 6 weeks before i fitted the flaps but it was over christmas last year with the same sort of crappy weather and the back of the car was filthy all the time. Not saying it doesnt get filthy now but nowhere near as bad as before.

Anyway its a personal choice and im not sure I would have them on a car that wasnt black.
