having same problems as mentioned before, see here

http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=68864

when driving normal and like miss daisy the clutch is fine, works as normal but when i accellerate hard the clutch pedal seems to fall to the floor when changing gear making the gear change difficult and often impossible. It also happens when i accellerate out of a roundabout or bend,

this lead me and my mechanic mate to suggest a link between the clutch and the Traction control system. the clutch only fails when there is a issue with traction. surely if the there was a mechanical problem with either the clutch master or slave cylinder then it would be the same with any driving style.

So for the last hour or 2 i have been driving with the TCS off and so far with heavy accelleration there have been no clutch problems.
i really dont want to be driving without the tcs but it is a bit more fun

what could be the problem here?

Sorta answered your own question, looks like when TCS is on your clutch sticks. Not sure why however I'd take it in to your local dealer. Unless you know how to fix it :)

my mate works for audi. so i took it to him.

Bled the brakes and clutch fluid and it has reduced the number of time this is happening. He said it nothing to with the TCS and that it's the master cyllinder behind the clutch pedal that packing in. so he's ordered me one up cost price.

hopefully this should do the trick.

i'l let you no as soon as its done

Ah now you mention it same thing happened to my leon although my clutch would just hit the floor for no reason. Took it to Seat and they changed the master cylinder which solved the problem (i think). Yea let me know, should be cool.

Master cylinder replacement

Hi Jonjay,

My clutch pedal starting hitting the floor in the cold snap, seems Like I have the same problem. I heard replacing the master cylinder (if that's what it is) is an engine out job?
Was yours replaced under warranty? If not, how much was it, and did you get a gesture of goodwill from SEAT given it acknowledges this issue?
Many thanks.

I have a very similar problem, my clutch pedal seems to drop the more i use it. I have to pull the pedal regularly now.

I just switch the TCS off now when i know i might be giving it some stick.

No my mate who works for audi got me the master cylinder for £130 and is taking £30 to fit it for me. he has his Audi dealers premises for homers after working hours. so has ramps and all necesary tools.

got my master cylinder replaced last night and it has solved all my clutch problems. Biting point is better and less juddery than before. Although i cant believe it was £130 for a New master cylinder.

Only took about 30mins to replace and bleed the system. So if anyone is having similar problems as me. it'l probably be the master cylinder.

Now time to get some proper modding done :D
