My first ibiza - project build thread

Hello all,
Just bought my first ibiza. A 6L 1.4 16v DAB. I'm personally over the moon with it!

It has side skirts already fitted and of course spica alloy wheels. The calipers both front and rear have been painted red by the previous owner. Coloured brakes are a bit like marmite, but for now they are staying red.

I pick the car up on Thursday as the garage offered to put it through a full mot and take care of anything needing done (exhaust is blown - was an advisory in last mot which was may this year) despite still having 9months on existing mot.

To kick start the process I'll begin with some sheep's mods (xenon bulbs, polo wiper etc).

My overall plans over the next year are-

Coilovers
Colour coded
Lamin-x fogs (POSSIBLY)
interior retrim
Coilovers
New alloys
Sounds

And anything else that pops up lol

Can't wait to get it home and start work on it! Which brings me onto my first dilemma. Do I go for lows or sounds first? Spotted a nice double din 6" touch screen unit for sale that has outstanding reviews but I'm not sure whither to splash the cash on coilies or the double din...

Anyway here are some pictures I took in the forecourt, enjoy.

Looks very clean mate. As mentioned seats look amazing, never seen them before. What I would say is with it being a 1.4, unless you're always going to be happy with that power (Doubt it but maybe wrong) I'd only really do any mods that can come off easy, I'd personally leave the retrim alone, Do the other bits but keep all the standard gear incase you want more power and go for an FR or Cupra etc, that way most of what you've bought can go on your new motor :)

Thanks mate, pick it up tomorrow at 2 :D
I believe it's only the DAB and formula sport that come with ease seats but I might be wrong.
Sound advice regarding the retrim, I think I'll hang off with that :)

Looks really tidy. I'm in the same boat with the 1.4. I'm thinking of going for coilys as the 1.4s could do with any help they can get :)

Also for a cheap and cheerful mod, I always think the red looks really smart with some matt black vinyl wrap behind the front numberplate and on lower bumper. Just personal preference.

Wee update, not much happening due to funds atm

However, gave it its first proper wash today. Snowfoamed, hand washed (shampood), claybarred, polished and waxed.

In other news, i've ordered custom mixed paint to colour code the rub strips :funk:

I've a few plans for next weekend as well. And when my renewal comes through in november-ish, i'll start to look at coilovers.
Picked out a set of wheels so need to start saving for them as well ;)

All the best, Dee

Thanks mate!
I know , the colour in the needles comes from paint on the underside of them and the oem one has a black coat over the top of the orange, I painted black very the blue and it cut down the refraction. I'll fix it for tomorrow though and finish the rest of the dials! :)

Hi mate,
any chance you could do my clocks that colour if a bit of money is slipped your way?
