Another update from this weekends activities

I've finished with all the sound deadening on the floor so set about removing the wiring loom for stripping, i set to the loom tracing all airbag wires back to the main block connector in the relay panel and removing them

Once i'd done this it was then time to re tape the loom and refit it all

Next on the list is to clean and paint the floor and refit interior trim, i've got some new mirrors hopefully arriving next week so then i'll strip the uneeded wiring from the doors and any sound deadening in there

Only pics i have are from my phone but it gives you an idea of what part of the interior loom looks like, i also weighed the removed parts and im now at 16 kgs

No idea what the cage weights, bloody heavy i would think knowing what it's made from

Im not in the realms of major weight saving but the bits that i don't want or need may aswell go

This does look like a good job. Good work mate!

Im going to keep an eye on this because, like a few other people, im thinking of doing this convertion myself. I will be getting rid of the 1.4 engine.

I will be doing the convertion on my own. Im not a mechanic by trade, im an engineer so id feel fairly confident.

Is there anything I should look out for when carrying the convertion out?

Craig.

Depends what engine your thinking of using and how much of the car/parts you have ??

Mine and Martin's have a year difference between them on the reg date but differences under the skin which made the second swap a bit more interesting, still doable but just took a bit of reworking on certain bits

Wow, superb job on the car, looks really really good. I actually like the mirrors. I think you should keep them red like the car. I think you can get away with the mirrors as the car isnt a 2.0 16v anymore, its more of a hybrid so the mirrors are good. Good work mate.

Mirrors are marmite jobby some will hate them but some including me love them:D

You gonna tray for a feature in a mag at somepoint?

Its certainly a break from the norm
