my logs, MAF faulty?

Hi guys, MAF seems to be playing up at the moment by making the car jittery on idle, and poor starting with overfueling, so have done the following log.

Its interesting to see its max was 144 on the mass flow (003)

Its got stage 1 revo, surely it should be on at least 160 upwards?

all help is appriciated, p.s somebody pulled out infrotn of me hence the drop short. you get the idea, wouldnt have gone much higher anyway, was on full boost as you can see when warm, boost =6 and timing = 6 on revo.

You could do with exploring the rev range a little more.
Airflow maxes out higher than 4.5K and boost isnt relative to airflow.

Mine is here to compare

but your still seeing more than i am at 4600rpm.

I'll re-do some but seems pointless me revvings the balls off it if its not going to be as high as it should @ 4500rpm :)

Different software, my engine/your engine, my maf/your maf.......so many variables.
Not everybody will see the same figures but you really need to go up to 6Krpm at least to see the full picture.

what is your car? LC/LCR?

What gear did you make the log in?

FYI my LC makes about 160g/s at the redline in 4th. Thats with a turbo back Milltek exhaust and BMC CDA filter (no remap).

4th gear pull, sorry should say mk3 ibiza cupra.

I've just been looking at some posts from years back, and it seems if you multiply your g/s by 1.31 you get bhp, 150 seems to be about right for a mk3 cupra, which is a bit wierd, thats means im only on 180bhp! ok rough estimates but you get the picture.

Going by that logic, Tallpaul has 209bhp without a remap

My graph as posted above was done in 4th gear (6sp box) on a straight flat road.

i think its only valid on a mk3 beezer mate, but don't hold me to that.

maybe im just being pedantic on the logs then and should get on with enjoying the car :D

i also think you should do a whole rev range log if you want to know if all is ok.

personally i also wonder if my maf sensor is not dying but i don't know exactly, if it may be useful to you here are some partial logs with the same setup as your's :

mk3 ibiza cupra , revo stage 1, lb9 (i think it's same as new boost6) and t6, done in 4th gear with a 2°c ambiant temperature :

I agree, i'm not putting out 209bhp. But Milltek downpipe and cat made a huge difference in the way the car pulls - opened up another 300-500rpm at the top end.

My most recent logs have been done in air temps of about 0°C - 4°C. I reckon i could be putting out 190bhp (assuming the engine was a genuine 180bhp to start with!).

I'm sure i read somewhere that g/s x 1.2 was a more realistic estimate of power output.

ok peeps, am going out today to do another log, the ambient was 2.5oC on the above logs, so looks like it may be a normal amount Jay.

cheers martyn, i have done some more logs today, took the revs to 5500 and its reached 146, so going by sample graphs and yours, i have nothing to worry about :)

thanks guys, TBCUpraT have you got stage 2 on std intercooler? if so how does it drive?

e.g. pull better through out the range than stage1? or does it get alot of heatsoak, i'm contemplating getting stage 2 but without FMIC if i can help it :)
