Yea no comfort lost over the standard wheels to be honest!
I'm really liking the chunky tyre look too.
Shall be rolling arches and lowering tonight :)

Well lowering was fun over the weekend!
Friday night I rolled the arches all round, trimmed the inner arches where I thought it may scrub, then lowered the car quite a bit.
It looked fine, front tyres a bit close to the bumper, but they're big tyres, I thought it would be fine!
But.... it wouldn't move without scrubbing like hell!
So we removed the inner arches at the front (going to make some thin covers to stop the inner arches getting gunked up)
Trimmed where the bumper meets the arch, raised the front 5mm and it was drive able and looked like this.

Saturday night I raised the whole car (and lowered one corner to make it sit evenly!)
Trimmed the rear inner arch where the bumper meets the arch.
And trimmed the fronts a bit more.
It now sits reasonable and can be driven as hard as I like with no scrubbing at all :)
Pictures as it stands now

and with my mates Mk1 :)

My ducktail also turned up from Vindi and the quality is brilliant.
Fingers crossed I will be painting and fitting it this week :)

It is fairly comfy!
My mates one has 14's with big tyres on the back and smaller on the front for the moment!
He's in the process of changing wheels :)

It also passed the rain test last night.
Only one or 2 drips found inside the car and we had a Thunderstorm from midnight until about 07:30 this morning!

New vs Old :)

My new wheel bolts

I have also removed the big rc car aerial and blanked the hole :) I bought a window aerial from ebay which seems to work fine :)

It's reasonably low haha
Closer to the ground than the Ibiza!
But will go lower if I get a different set of wheels with a bit of stretch, the current tyres are very close to my chopped up inner arch/bumper!
I will get some pics of the back :)

Loving the mx5!

Used to have a mk1 myself, looks like I may well be returning to the fold soon too as won't be needing a diesel for much longer!

Dunno whether to go mk1 or mk2 though!!

Cheers dude :)
I think the Mk1 has more character but the Mk2 looks and feels a bit more refined inside.

I dropped my car off at a mates workshop to have the silencer taken out of the centre section of the exhaust :)
Hopefully it will sound a bit better and I'm considering having the cat cut off because it's welded to the centre section, buy some flanges and get a decat so I can bolt it in and out.
Other plans are to try and make the splitter I bought last month fit!

Exhaust is all done and I love it!
It still sounds similar to what it did on tick over but it has a nice rasp when you give it some :)
And it now sits much better
