N249 Valve?

Is there any way i can check if this is working properly? My car dosnt seem to be boosting properly all the time. Am i right in thinking this valve opens the dump valve to stop boost spikes? If so could it be venting precious boost at the wrong times?

bypass it.. i done it on mine following Martyn's instructions and its a very very good way to make the car perkier and boost less random.

I was thinking about that but, would like to get to the bottom of my cars sluggishness and lack of boost before i go doing that. Is there not a way that i could check its functionality?

best thing to do would be to get the car on vagcom.. log blocks 118 ( i think, someone else can confirm) for maf readings, post them up here.. my car was sluggish, replaced the maf, made a hell of a difference, also bypassed the n249 valve and that also made it a lot perkier.. if your going to bypass it then i wouldnt worry if it was working or not

002 or 003 for MAF mate.

As far as I know there is no way to test the N249 valve.
