BUMP!
Is this an easy job to do? First time doing any work on an engine - so glad to have found a solution. Been chasing this problem every summer.
Crank sensors, fuel filters changed + no fault codes is so annoying.

not that dificult, the dificulty is that you cannot see what you are doing.

removing the conector you have push the "clamp" (for the lack of a better term) for it to come off and it will come off easilly.

also the tubes turn them sideways first before pushing to make them easy to remove.

I can confirm that this worked!! Last week no starting issues in the heat.
Part ordered : Bosch 0280142345 Bleeder Valve
Took only 15 mins start to finish to fit. Took out the air box for easier access. Very easy job to do! Thanks for the help guys.

Nice I never had problems with this again.

Before I had the problem every day in the summer....

As a consequence damaged two starter motors and I think two steering pumps because of it could be related to it also since they damaged while trying to start the car multiple times.

Yeap, it`s behind the air filter case. I cannot post a picture as I don`t have yet 15 posts.

Hope this helps.

One thing to remember wrt dm222's reply, your car is a 6K Ibiza with a 1.4 8V petrol engine, this section of this forum is for 6J Ibiza and dm222 runs a 1.4 16V petrol engine, so the location of your EVAP solenoid might be completely different.

Edit:- you should ask this question in the MK3, ie 6K2 section.

Hi all,

I have a 58 plate 1.4 Ibiza, and also suffering from the car not starting when warm issue, so looking to replace this N80 valve.

Could someone please confirm which is the correct part number, as I think two have been mentioned in this thread:
0280142345
0280142431

Many thanks,
Duane.
