    Hello,
new here, so I did try to read some pages, but 97 is a lot :D
I did download about 40 Gb of different files linked here, can someone refer me to a post out of all of them, that I can safely follow to update my navigation please ? (any version with France will do)

I think you are out of luck that's a Mib1 standard. There are no known DIY (do it yourself) reliable solutions for that.

Mib2 standard there is the "workaround" if you don't have Mapcare. Mib2 Plus / High you get the unit turned into a retrofit which adjusts the Swap / FEC code so maps can be uploaded to the limit of the code.

Only DIY is Mib2 standard. Others you have to seek help from a dealer or an equipped retrofitter. Mib1 standard there was a guy in East Europe who was trying to drum up business a few years back. Find a suitable retrofitter in your country and they may be able to sort out Mib1 but I guess they would prefer to sell you a mib2 retrofit.

    BTW 6P means it's mib2 standard 5F mib1 standard. Yours 5F.

All right ! Thanks for your answer @Tell
Not gonna lie, didn't understand everything you said, but if I sum up :
I am out of luck (looks like you figured me out already) and I can't easily update it. My best chance would be to discuss with my local Seat store about it
    Cheers

You need to read what is on the card. Most of recent come with V7 which is 1030.

    See post 1936 above.

If V7 then you down load the link

The direct link to 1030 is this

    http://vw-mapscdn.tdd.adacorcdn.com/DiscoverMedia2_EU1_2718_1030.7z

Unzip with 7zip, copy to card. Check it's working then follow the workaround.

You can dive in and take the overall.nds file out of that and use it as long as it was V7.

V6... hmmm think that's 0915 as opposed to 1030 which was V7 in Seat terms.

After much searching on German Skoda board it's ECE1 2018 0915

    direct link

    http://infotainment-cdn.skoda-auto.com/base/maps/STD2_915_EU1_2018.zip

that I believe is what Seat calls V6. You didn't take a picture of the screen before you deleted it ?. That's the one before 1030 which is called Seat V7 unless someone gave me past incorrect info. I'll see what written on the from of a Seat 1030 card in the day light as a double check.

(Even better back it up and picture !)

Ps tallies with what Aggie said here, post 11. Seat V6 = 0915:

Well the instructions for those with Mapcare do say that.... understandable mistake those with mib1 even more problematic because you are going back in time on servers to find what you deleted. Since in operation the card is switched to write protect I worked out sometime ago when people deleted the contents all was not lost that the all important overall.nds file of the release was the same on all cards of that version, only the hidden CID to Windows on the card is unique. That's the unique code that is tied to the unit, whilst the unit is tied to the series release of the overall.nds file. That's why that one is retained.

The series release is the four character code I.e. 1430 (the current). The release is the same across the Vag group but they complicate matters by their own label stamping on the card which is different between Seat, Skoda and VW. 1430 is VW Version 14 which is built into the VW file down load title. I had posted up previously VW users defects they had noticed in the maps but that was against the VW label code.

To complicate matters further once the card goes into the unit with the release files, it knows what part number to show for the brand (VW, Skoda and Seat etc). That's the 6P code for Seat. The only instance was last time round was the Seat part number for the all Europe file was not coded correctly. It through up a 5F VW part number. This is where people decided to edit the inside part of the file to give it a 6P code etc. Although you dont need to do this, its only for presentation purposes. The part number is used in the Seat paper test to work out whether the unit is a mib2 standard 6P or mib1 standard 5F on the map upgrade if you had Mapcare.

Exciter the developer of the workaround experimented with all of this at the time and can be found on the thread. At that stage the level of common release across VAG brands was not full appreciated so people were looking at Seat servers for map updates. Now we know they are always late but interchangeable within the confines of mib2 standard. VW and Skoda servers are the go to places for the latest maps on the down load link files which are published (and also get you out of a pickle at times). The VW and Skoda websites then put their own pages to the server links in a further stage. 1430 is available for the standard system (Nov 2019 release).

Wait to hear whether you recover it back. You shouldn't have any problems if you aren't using a Mac.

Btw it is V6 on the link I provided since the part number tallies with part number 4 of the dbinfo.txt file of the download :).... just checked for you so no ambiguity. The image is from an eBay seller.

    The Mac notes from VW:

    ATTENTION

If the map update is performed using the Apple® OS X operating system you may find that
Discover Media does not recognise the map material or displays it incorrectly. This is due to
a lack of compatibility between the “7 zip” program and the OS-X operating system. In
addition, the OS-X operating system has a tendency to create hidden additional files on
external data media. We therefore recommend that OS X users use the “Keka” unzipping
program. We also recommend using the “CleanMyDrive” program to remove any hidden files.

So it's Keka and CleanMyDrive. You don't change from Fat32 and the sector size either.

That's from the VW technical guidance which obviously doesn't cover the workaround:

    http://docplayer.net/136926751-Discover-media-gen-2-pq-map-material-update.html

The Fat32 sector size I'd have to search further if you made it NTFS. It won't like NTFS we know that from POI import. That's why people say just delete, don't reformat since you mess up the sector size although if you reformat in Fat32 it will keep the sector size.

    Here you are

"We recommend that you have a cluster of 4,096 bytes for formatting"

    https://www.google.com/url?q=https:...FjACegQIBRAB&usg=AOvVaw3ds6AxnOYbtlM_5u4pE5kr

There are MAC users round here that might want to jump in but above is the VW approved method, Keta, CleanMyDrive and don't change from Fat32 by reformatting it in your "favourite" format since it won't work if it's not in Fat32. They run QNX in the unit which is Linux based so it's not expecting anything other than Fat32. Mac's add garbage to each line record, its not expecting that either which is where Keka and CleanMyDrive comes in. If it was a high unit it just stops the import since the file validation checks fail. Standard, the files are not imported but will equally get upset about file garbage.

If it's a mib2 high you can't delete the maps unless you go into the backend they are not on the card. Mib2 High / Plus is defined by pressing the media button and seeing Jukebox. No jukebox and it isn't a mib2 high. Doesn't have a map card.

Suspect it's still a Mac issue. Don't have a Mac so can't advice on cleaning the rubbish they generate which messes up things. As said others on here have Macs and use their own workaround to down load the map data.

Best to re-install version 6 back onto the card so it looks like the Vag pdf. Do a reboot of the unit just in case it's confused about what's going on. A long hold of 10 seconds on the on / off switch till it comes back round again.

Failing all of that back to the dealer with a system that's stopped working. They do say don't use a Mac for this although plenty on here do. You got to get the 0915 release back onto the card version 6 card.

Just re down load 0915 following the VW PDF.

    0915 V6

    http://infotainment-cdn.skoda-auto.com/base/maps/STD2_915_EU1_2018.zip

Follow the VW PDF to get 0915 on the blank V6 card

    https://www.google.com/url?q=https:...FjACegQIBRAB&usg=AOvVaw3ds6AxnOYbtlM_5u4pE5kr

Basically unzipped Maps directory goes onto the card from the route

    maps

    The rest is below.

You should install 7 zip VW don't guarantee any other unzipping program including the windows 10 built in one. 7 zip is free.

Having got that working you can then think about the workaround method for 1430.

If you did format the card in the Mac reformat again in fat 32, cluster of 4,096 size before copying back v6. Do that for good measure.

The latest maps are in the post 1897, direct link

    http://vw-mapscdn.tdd.adacorcdn.com/DiscoverMedia2_EU_AS_1430_V12.7z

See 1898 below and the instructions were written up again on the workaround taking in people's experiences see post 1809 / 1810

    https://forums.seatcupra.net/index.php?threads/navigation-system-updates.388586/page-91

using the newest link in 1 for 1430. You don't need to do 10 on that list.

Essentially you take the v6 overall.nds file. Copy 1430 onto your v6 card, then over write your 1430 overall.nds file with your v6 overall.nds file. Reboot your navigation system, 10 second long press before putting the card back in. Where the overall.nds file is, is in the post 1809. Always keep a copy of the overall.nds file for v6 since you'll want that whenever you do a map update.

The latest is not published on the Seat site and if it was all of the files are the same !. Seat drags its heels unlike VW and Skoda in map update files.
