Went into my VAG specialist, they are good at what they do, i have had an initial problem where going above 5k rpm car suffers hesitation a drop in power under WOT, this is like for a split second but more than enough to notice it, i had changed coil packs spark plugs etc but no change, when monitoring under VCD cyclinder 3 has misfired everything pointed to the inj to me.

i took it into the garage who took it for a drive connected up, they noticed straight away the chain is noisier on start up than it should be, and recommend it be replaced £435 which is the right price but stated the cam adjuster and housing should also be replaced as this is a known fault and has been modified bringing this bill to £895 i nearly cried.

now they could not spot the fault with cyclinder 3 but diagnostics showed intake manifold flap p2008 001 electrical mal and regulation deviation on the manifold runner control. this adds £120 for the part and £180 for labour again is a fair price for the work the intake has to be taken off this should expose the injectors.

now putting inj 3 to one side can any of what they found cause the misfire fault under WOT 3rd gear and above?

shall i change inj 3 at the same time?

rev d diverter valve might change this to G
